THE ASSOCIATION FOR GENERIC MEDICINE PRODUCERS

ABOUT APMGR

The Association for Generic Medicine Producers (APMGR) was set up in 2009, at the initiative of a dynamic group of high quality generic medicine producing companies. APMGR is a non-governmental and independent organization that aims to actively contribute to improving the access to medicines for Romanian patients.

Throughout the world, generic medicines are the solution for increasing access to pharmaceutical treatment. In order to have a competitive healthcare system in Romania, we need to learn from the European experience, where the support for generic consumption improved the access to high quality medical assistance for a higher number of patients while also rendering public spending more efficient.

APMGR gathers the most important companies in the generic medicine production field, present on the Romanian market: Accord Healthcare, Amring Pharmaceuticals, Alvogen, Dr. Reddy’s, Egis, Fresenius Kabi, Gedeon Richter, Infomed Fluids, Krka, Magistra CC, Medochemie, Mylan, Sandoz, Teva, Zentiva.

APMGR is affiliated (since 2011) to the Medicines for Europe Association, the official representative body of the European generic and biosimilar pharmaceutical industry, which is at the forefront of providing high-quality affordable medicines to millions of Europeans and stimulating competitiveness and innovation in the pharmaceutical sector.

MANAGEMENT

Association management is provided by General Assembly formed by legal representatives of all APMGR member companies. The General Assembly meets at least once per year and has a role of permanent control on other management bodies of the association.

To administrate the current activities of the association, APMRG members elect once every two years a Board of Directors formed by five members, lead by a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman. The Board of Directors meets any time is needed and decides in the name of the association by presence of 2/3 from the number of its members.

The executive management is provided by an Executive Director.

DANIEL BRAN

VICE-CHAIRMAN

Daniel Bran aduce in sprijinul APMGR o expertiza bogata si foarte variata, acumulata in cei peste 18 ani petrecuti in industria farmaceutica, deopotriva in cadrul unora dintre cele mai mari companii de medicamente inovatoare, dar si in companii de generice.
